Tide comeback runs out of steam
LSU wins 71-60

There is really no reason to beat up Anthony Grant regarding the 71-60 loss at LSU on Saturday. Whether it was Grant’s idea to go to a smaller lineup is a matter of opinion.  Maybe he did or just maybe circumstances dictated the lineup. Who really cares? I just want to say that you have to have a lot of admiration for a bunch of guys who just wouldn’t quit. The Tide was down 17 but fought back to a 49-47 deficit. Sure, LSU widened the gap at the end. Alabama had left it all on the floor trying to come back. They ran out of energy, but let the record reflect they ever ran out of fight.

Alabama fans are locked into the dumpster fire known as the Anthony Grant coaching era. It sure doesn’t hurt to talk about individual effort. It was a great show of courage against a team with superior talent. It’s a shame that Alabama doesn’t have that talent, but it’s a shame that LSU doesn’t have the heart that Alabama displayed. Alabama may be short of talent but they aren’t short in guts. Tip of the hat to Alabama’s never say die attitude. I’m sure that Levi Randolph isn’t going to be the SEC Player of the Year. He might not even make first team All-SEC for that matter. What a player that kid has become.

It is odd that in the Grant era two of the ‘s Alabama’s most beloved players have emerged. Trevor Releford and Levi Randolph have reserved a spot in Alabama basketball history. I hope all Alabama basketball fans recognized the excellence in those two players. How often do you see a point guard and a two guard double teamed by opposing players. It’s a shame that Grant couldn’t put a better supporting cast on floor to help out. For today, I just wanted to say how tough those guys played. And would some of you guys please quit giving Riley Norris a hard time. I think he’s proven he belongs.
