Steele to miss 4 to 6 weeks

steele to have surgery...
bama is losing leadership and ability

You know the old joke don't you? Cheer up things could be worse. So I cheered up and things did get worse. This times it is beleagured senior Andrew Steele. He has a sports hernia that has not responded to less invasive treatment, and now will have to go under the knife. It is reported that he will miss between 4 and 6 weeks. Another way to look at the time frame is that it is unlikely that Steele will be able to make a contribution on the floor this season. He would be eligible for a redshirt. It is possible that the NCAA could grant him another redshirt season, but Grant expects him to return and make a contribution this season. Andrew will make a contribution whether he plays or not. His leadership on and off the court is important to Alabama. If he can't lead from the floor he will lead from the bench. He's that kind of guy. For the Crimson Tide you have to wonder what will happen next. Alabama has already lost Carl Engstrom to knee surgery. The loss of Engstrom was a blow to Bama's inside game.  The injury to Steele is a loss to heart and soul of the team.
