INGRAM WILL PLAY THE TWO...

INGRAM AND SEXTON MAY BECOME THE DYNAMIC DUO

Dazon moves to the two? I bet he does.
Dazon Ingram finished the season on a high note playing his best basketball of the year in the SEC Tournament. He likely gets rewarded by losing his starting position at the point. Expect him to start at the two-guard slot. If you remember Ingram got pretty smooth from behind the line the last few games of the season. This would be a dynamite move by Avery Johnson. His size and power can overwhelm some players in a man defense, and his outside shooting can inflict some major damage against the zone. Last season, Ingram showed us that he can play facing the basket, but he can post up inside. In today's college game that is important. Super athletes abound in Division One basketball and Ingram can be one of those players.

Ingram and Sexton together...

I bet before the season is over Ingram will be taking Collin Sexton to Micky D's for a lot of late night burgers. Sexton can create space and that will help Ingram in his perimeter game. He can also do some damage with Ingram on the (excuse me) pick and rolls. I can close my eyes and see Sexton dishing out after he penetrates the lane with Ingram anxiously waiting behind the arc. One reason that Dazon's move to the two could benefit the Tide is his length. He can shoot over defenders and he can pass over them as well. Ingram has the smarts. He definitely has the drive to become a great player. The left hander is a team leader on and off the floor. Given the fact that John Petty, Riley Norris, and Braxton Key can all play the two when needed gives Johnson a lot of options.
Sexton lights the fuse

Sexton is going to be the fuse that lights the bomb. Alabama has the chance to score a lot of points this season. I'd expect them to start looking to shoot off the rebound. If they can't run they will push to get the ball inside and create some space outside. Fair warning to Tide players with Sexton and Ingram at the guards. You better keep your eyes open. Otherwise, you might get stung by pass whipping at you in the blink of an eye. In my years of watching players come and go you really try not to get too excited about freshmen. We have signed five truly outstanding freshmen this season. A couple of them (or more) might have dynamic first-year success. I'm betting the Sexton and Petty do just that. The pair of five-star recruits has brought in unprecedented excitement. The last time I remember such anticipation was a kid named  Leon and another nicknamed Hollywood.

    Yep, I'm completely buckled up.

CRIMSON TIDE RECRUITING UPDATE: According to my AAU source, Bama has pulled even with Georgia for the services of Will Richarson. More to follow on how later this week.
