JOHNSON RINGS THE BELL...
One thing seems to be certain regarding Alabama basketball. The fans love Avery Johnson. He hasn't coached a game. He has yet to sign a big name recruit (although that may be change very soon). Optimism has been restored. The future looks bright. The recent past is fading away, and changes are being made. Will any of this lead to success in the future? I believe it will, and I believe that Avery Johnson is the man who can get it done.
I don't think that there is going to be a huge leap forward for a couple of seasons. Last year the Tide won 18 games under very difficult circumstances. Will 'Bama exceed that win total? The Tide lost some really good players. Levi Randolph, Coop, and Ricky Tarrant are gone. No superstar recruits were signed by Johnson who had a small window to find anyone. He found a couple of players and got Alabama's Mr. Basketball to renew his pledge for the Tide. I'll go on record right now in saying
