Tide falls 68-62 against 6th ranked Florida...

Florida played an average game, but average is enough against Tide...

Where in the world has our basketball program gone? How can it get this bad in such a short period of time?  For a person who has watched Alabama basketball for so many years this is so hard to endure it defies description. Frustration has given way to downright anger for so many basketball fans. This one included. How does the team with the second most wins in SEC basketball history turn into a joke. How bad is this going to become before it gets better. Thank heavens we have a group of young men who are playing their hearts out. I'll always have fond memories of this bunch in terms of effort. We'll always have fond memories of Trevor Releford. Someone recently called him the 'little general'. A fitting moniker for a splendid player.

The home court streak is over. The plunge will continue. This season is going to get a lot worse before it is mercifully over. If you watched the game nothing epitomizes the season more than 8 offensive rebounds snatched by Florida on two first half possessions.Despite playing about as bad on offense as a team can play the Tide managed to lose by only six. Final score was 68-62.Once again when the Tide gives up more than 65 they lose. Actually, in some ways the Tide played better. The energy was there. The team played a controlled offense that gave them a chance. Right now this team falls between horrible and the worst team in the SEC. Bama is in four way fight with State, South Carolina, and Auburn for the bottom spot right now.

I don't know about any of you, but I'm beginning to have the feeling that this years team cannot beat a decent team. Florida is very overrated in my opinion. They are ranked #6 and the Gators didn't look like the 6th best team in the NCAA. If they are as good as billed this Tide team played as well as they possibly could. Fans are just plan disgusted with Grant. It's hard to blame them. I think the kindest thing you could say about Grant is that he gets about all he can from the talent you has recruited.  Once again his old head coach extends the winning streak over Grant. As almost always, you get the feeling the Tide will keep it close but will never win. All things considered the Tide got good play from Hale. Jacobs played well on offense, and even Cooper showed signs of coming out of his funk. LSU comes to Coleman on Saturday. The Tide has no one to match up with Johnny O'Brien. How Grant chooses to play his will be interesting. This is one of the few games the Tide might win this season against a decent team. Alabama will need Obasahan to be in the lineup to offset the strong LSU guard play.
